Advantages of Reforestation

When there is deforestation in the area it makes the soil deficient in lots of minerals and resources and also makes the soil more prone to erosion. The roots of trees hold the soil tightly and prevent it from getting eroded. This prevents the soil from losing its essential mineral and makes the soil more fertile. Trees hold the moisture of that place intact by absorbing water through roots and leaves and also  holding rainwater  which prevents the atmosphere from drying up. Rainfall is also very frequent in the region where there are trees as they release in the air which accounts for more rainfall in that region.  Another  benefits of reforestation  include trees if used in the controlled state are also a good source of income for the people of that region as there are various occupations related to making paper from trees and provide employment to the local villagers of that region, but remember to regrow again. What Exactly is Deforestation Doing to Our Costa Rica?

Imagen
Years of unchecked logging laid waste to two-thirds of Costa Rica’s tree canopy, leaving its tropical rainforests facing an uncertain future. But the trees have returned and the resurrected forests support a thriving eco-tourism industry. Towards the middle of the 20th century, indigenous woodland – predominantly tropical rainforest – covered all but a quarter of the country. But then the loggers arrived. The forests were cleared as crews of lumberjacks freely converted Costa Rica’s natural resources into profits. By the early 1980s, the destruction of two-thirds of the forests had ravaged the habitatas   of indigenous creatures   such as the golden toad and poison dart frog. Following decades of decline, an unusual thing happened. The rate of deforestation slowed and eventually dropped to zero, and over time the trees began to return. Branching out What caused this dramatic reversal of fortune? The simple answer is that Costa Rica began to realize the potential of...

What are Reforestation?

Imagen
Reforestation is the consequence of deforestation which according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation, is a complete clearance of trees.  Deforestation  is usually planned and deliberate felling of trees and the land cleared is used for activities which are not related to the forest. The act of re-growing trees in an area or land surface is reforestation. Reforestation is replanting of trees in a stretch of terrain which had for some reason lost its forest cover. Reforestation is a planned or deliberate movement to regrow vegetation lost due to human activity, natural calamity or sudden   climate change. With increasing environmental awareness, a global initiative has been taken to regenerate lost forest hamlets across the world. Reforestation is not the same as afforestation, though both are directed towards propagating greenery. Afforestation is the endeavour to forest an area which originally had no tree cover. It is the effort to create...

How Does Reforestation Help Global Warming?

It’s no secret that the forests on our planet have been under siege for some time now. Areas that have been free from human involvement for thousands of years are now being ripped apart in favor of increased profits and human development. One of the ways we can combat this problem is through reforestation. Reforestation is the replanting of trees in areas that were devastated by manmade or natural deforestation. Ahead, we’ll take a look at some of the problems with deforestation and how reforestation can reverse them. We’ll also get into some of the specifics of reforestation. More trees aren’t always the answer if they’re the wrong kind, so environmentalists have to be careful with their recommendations.                            Deforestation and Climate Change Before you can accurately understand the importance of reforestation, we have to talk about deforestation and how it harms the environment and contri...
